With the information requested, the IG Christkindlimarkt has enough information to vote on the approval of individual traders in order to guarantee a varied and Christmassy range of products.

How do I apply for a stand at the Christkindlimarkt?

If you rent a stand for 4 weeks, your market stand at the Christkindlimarkt will definitely be on Bahnhofstrasse. If you rent a stand on a weekly basis, the location can also be on Poststrasse. The IG Christkindlimarkt creates the site plan for the market stands together with the city police. Your exact location will be communicated in good time.

How much does it cost to rent a market stall?

Yes, in principle you are allowed to bring your own market stall. The best thing to do is to send a photo of your own market stall and then the IG Christkindlimarkt will decide individually whether your market stall fits into the overall image of the Christkindlimarkt. There is no rent reduction for this.

Are you allowed to bring your own market stall?

50% of the market stall fees are due upon booking. The remaining 50% will be charged before the start of the Christmas market.

When and how do I pay for the market stall?

The IG Christkindlimarkt will examine each individual case to see whether you will receive a refund if you cancel.

I need to cancel my booth. Will I get a refund?

The Christmas market stalls are open Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the food stalls are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. These are the minimum attendance times. If you want to stay open longer, this is also possible.

What are the exact opening hours of the Christmas market?

Before 11 a.m. you can unload your goods without a permit. On the day the Christmas market is set up, there is a special permit to unload your goods, which you can apply for from the city of Chur at the following link: www.chur.ch/fahrbewilligungaltstadt .

Where can I unload my goods?

The IG Christkindlimarkt will provide electricity to your hut.
The following power connections are available:

  • 230 V: no additional costs, please note that you CANNOT connect a heater here

  • 400 V Cee 16: CHF 400 (for 4 weeks)

  • 400 V Cee 32: CHF 750 (for 4 weeks)

How does the power supply work?

You do not need any special certification for your goods. All goods must be labelled with prices. Generally, there are simplified labelling requirements for open sales at market stalls, but the sales staff must be able to verbally provide the full information (ingredients, allergens, etc.). Find out individually what applies to your goods. All information is provided without guarantee.

Do I need certification for my goods?

Yes, the rented market stall includes a bench or table.
